Customs clearance consists of two stages, customs clearance in China and customs clearance in the receiving country.
For example, when delivering a container with furniture to the EU, the process is as follows:
Approximately 1 week before loading container.Clarify paperwork details etc with customers. (Different countries and even ports have different requirements);
Provide all necessary documents for customs clearance in China (packing list, invoice and other additional documents, if necessary);
Loading container at the warehouse;Payment for delivery (is done before loading the goods);
Delivery of the container to the port of shipment;
Customs clearance in China;
Loading container on to the ship;
Shipping by sea to the port closest to the client;
Port dues in the recipient country are not included in the cost of delivery to the port of delivery;
Telex release or original Bill of lading (depending on the customs requirements in the country of delivery) are sent after full payment for delivery to the port of delivery;
After that, responsibility for the goods goes to the client's broker.

You can get the estimation based on Packing list - a document with your the actual order and all the information about the goods. Just send it to the customs clearance broker of your choice.
